Subscription based email accounts can be in one of our domains, or you can bring your own business or personal domain. Our domains include: mainmail.us mainmail.ai mainmail.biz mainmail.info and we will be adding to those as we grow. We want our subscribers to have many options for aliases and identities, so we limit the number of subscribers per domain. If you try to create an email address at bigtech.com, your email options are quite limited and you end up with addresses that are hard to remember and easy to misspell. A three letter email address (before the @) is impossible: Not here. When you sign up for a subscription you have a choice of domains to use, and all plans are available to host email for a domain you own. Custom domain owners have access to our business plan. Business plan subscribers are be able to create and manage multiple mailboxes in a very easy to use interface. During business hours (Pacific time) we can usually set up a domain within minutes of a complete registration if the DNS records are ready. MAINMAIL™ is now onboarding business and personal subscribers. Our business subscription offering is focused on companies with 10 to 400 employees and allows the administrator subscriber to manage the mailbox accounts of employees.
Upon subscribing for an account your portal password and mailbox password will one in the same. However, upon first logon to the webmail portal you will be asked to change your mailbox/imap password, and the password rules are just a little bit stricter than they are for the subscription portal. This is by design. For security purposes we prefer subscribers to maintain two different passwords. It's not required but it is highly recommended. If you forget your portal password, you can reset it using your webmail password. Also, if you forget your IMAP/webmail password you can reset it by going into the portal, to the account page, and selecting the password tab. If a subscriber forgets both passwords there are still recovery paths: An account can be reclaimed via your verified phone number or your verified alternate email address. If all of that fails and you have an ongoing subscription, open a case with our support department.

You could set up an IMAP client program and never log in to the webmail, but some features are only available on the webmail portal. We have limited what subscribers can do on the subscription portal in part to encourage this separation. There is an exception is for our business subscribers. Business class subscription comes with 10 mailboxes on your custom domain for 199 a year, with add additional mailboxes for $15 per year each. You can turn on the groups feature if you need it, and assign each mailbox user to a group.
The MAINMAIL™ Account Settings portal for business subscribers is designed to be easy to use. You can create, delete, lock/unlock accounts. You can turn on the Use Groups feature to assign each mailbox/account to a group. You can create and manage forwarding rules. Your custom domain service comes with an “all” address, which you can disable if not needed, or you can add exclusions to this catch-all address. If your business does not use groups feature, it doesn't appear in your User Interface. MAINMAIL™ will continue to develop improvements to MAINMAIL™'s business user experience. Our RoundCube based webmail portal is always being improved, MAINMAIL™ developed additional software to enhance site security by adding the Cloudflare turnstile humanity check. The mailing list system is currently based on the highly popular and extremely functional PHPList. However, the code for PHPList is very old and has not been updated to take advantage of modern improvements. Therefore MAINMAIL™ is currently developing our own mailing list application. Our high availability design will be evolving as it grows: Our goal is an always-on service. To meet that goal we'll have multiple layers of redundancy.
